Bay Bridge Marina

Stevensville, Maryland

On the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay, Peter Fillat Architects is designing a new boat storage facility at the existing Bay Bridge Marina, located in Stevensville, Maryland. Already a favored destination among boating enthusiasts, the Bay Bridge Marina will now offer patrons an updated captain's lounge, or community space, new washroom facilities with storage lockers, 18,000 square feet of retail showrooms and a 4 story storage facility with capacity for 256 boats. "The façade of the building is based on the proportion of stacked shipping containers, and the color palette represents shades of the sea" said Kevin Roycroft, Associate Architect for PFA. "We sought a modern interpretation of a typical boat shed reflecting the rich maritime history of the neighboring Chesapeake Bay".
