Project Description

The project is a 76 unit mixed-use residential rental building with ground level  commercial space in Buffalo, New York. The site is adjacent to one of the city’s primary public open spaces and intersecting boulevards which were created during the city beautiful planning movement of the early 20th century. The project has a 10 story height limit. The site, while located at a corner, is constrained in a narrow configuration. It is the first phase of a new commercial main street type development located in the core of this garden district. The project envisions creating an iconic form by taking the upper five levels of the building and stretching them vertically by using loft units in order to create a tower form at this important intersection. The building steps up to this height using a series of outdoor terraces and semi public spaces linked via diagonals in the facade design which are inspired by the city plan. The resulting building form will create a beacon for this new commercial district.
