MARRIOTt international’s moxy hotels appoints moxy Dc’s captain, Mark namdar as gm

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Moxy DC, the innovative 200-room, 14-story D.C. hotel slated to open downtown in late October 2018 announces three key executive appointments. Mark Namdar will serve as the Captain, James Rattray as Director of Sales and Social Media, and Brianna Hall as Director of Beverage and Food. Moxy DC marks the brand’s first property in the nation’s capital. As Moxy DC’s Captain – the brand’s take on general manager – Mark Namdar will lead the property’s day-to-day operations, from programming and marketing to events. He has a 25-year track record of successful associate engagement and guest satisfaction after having overseen several successful luxury and independent properties, including the Graham Georgetown in Washington, D.C. and the Westin Tysons Corner in Virginia.

“Moxy is a new disruptive hotel experience in D.C. that caters to the next generation of travelers,” said Namdar. “I’m looking forward to combining my experience with that of the Moxy DC team to bring this fun, vibrant, unpredictable and stylish hotel to life for locals and guests alike.”

In his role as Director of Sales and Social Media at Moxy DC, James Rattray oversees and implements the strategy for maximizing the hotel’s revenue as well as collaborating with the community to form meaningful partnerships and experiences. A hospitality industry veteran of over 15 years, Rattray has spent the last few years in sales and marketing positions for Marriott International and Starwood Hotels & Resorts in the Mid-Atlantic. Prior to joining Moxy, Rattray was the Sales and Catering Director at the Washington Court Hotel on Capitol Hill.

Joining the Moxy DC team as Director of Food and Beverage, Brianna Hall will oversee operations of the hotel’s restaurant and bar concepts. Having multiple positions in the restaurant industry, from server to barista and everything in between, Hall will bring her passion to the playful brand in D.C. – galvanizing the city’s dining and entertainment scene from the corner of 10th and K Street NW.
