University City Center, designed for a site adjacent to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, is a multi-phase project which includes a 149-room Fairfield Inn by Marriott, a 93-key Residence Inn by Marriott, over 14,800 square feet of ground-level retail, and a 560-space structured parking garage. By combining service, utility, administrative, and guest support facilities, the program maintains economic usage of the site, reducing construction costs. The project is a redevelopment of the full-service Collegiate Inn property, and adds an additional structure, providing boarding for 400 students.
